그녀는 자리로 돌아와 앉았습니다.

The king, her father,

무언가가 그녀를 놀라게 한 것을 보고

seeing that something had frightened her,

그녀에게 무슨 일이냐고 물었습니다.

asked her what was the matter.

‘이상한 개구리예요." 그녀가 말했습니다.

'There is a nasty frog,' said she,

"문 앞에, 공을 가져다준 개구리가 있어요

'at the door, that lifted my ball

오늘 아침 저를 위해 샘에서 꺼내줬어요.

for me out of the spring this morning:

저는 그에게 여기서 저와 함께 살수 있을 것이라고 말해줬어요.

I told him that he should live with me here,

저는 그가 결코 샘에서 나올 수 없다고 생각했거든요.

thinking that he could never get out of the spring;

근데 그는 문 앞에 있고,

but there he is at the door,

들어오고 싶어해요.’

and he wants to come in.'

그녀가 말하는 동안

While she was speaking

개구리는 다시 문을 두드렸습니다.

the frog knocked again at the door

왕이 젊은 공주에게 말하였습니다.

Then the king said to the young princess,

`약속한 건, 반드시 지켜야 한단다.

'As you have given your word you must keep it;

그러니 가서 그를 들여보내주도록 하렴’

so go and let him in.'
