라푼젤은 햇볕 아래에서 가장 아름다운 아이로 자랐습니다.

Rapunzel grew into the most beautiful child beneath the sun.

그녀가 12살이 되었을 때,

When she was twelve years old,

마녀는 그녀를 탑에 가두었고,

the enchantress shut her into a tower,

탑은 숲 안에 놓여있었어요.

which lay in a forest,

계단도 문도 없었지만,

and had neither stairs nor door,

꼭대기에는 작은 창문이 있었습니다.

but quite at the top was a little window.

마녀가 들어가고플 때,

When the enchantress wanted to go in,

그 창문 아래에서 외쳤어요.

she placed herself beneath this, and cried,

"라푼젤, 라푼젤, 머리카락을 내게 내려주렴.”

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let down your hair to me."

라푼젤은 정말로 긴 머리를 가졌었고

Rapunzel had magnificent long hair,

고운 금색이었습니다.

fine as spun gold,

그 마녀의 목소리가 들릴때면,

and when she heard the voice of the enchantress

그녀는 땋은 머리칼을 풀어서

she unfastened her braided tresses

창문의 위쪽 고리에 감아두었습니다.

wound them round one of the hooks of the window above,

그러면 머리카락은 20야드 아래로 떨어졌고

and then the hair fell twenty yards down,

마녀는 그것을 타고 올라왔습니다.

and the enchantress climbed up by it.
