When she arrived at the festival in this dress,

모두들 너무나 놀란 나머지

everyone was so astonished that

그들은 뭐라 할 말을 알지 못했습니다.

they did not know what to say.

왕자는 그녀하고만 춤을 췄습니다.

The prince danced only with her,

누군가가 그녀에게 춤을 청하면

and whenever anyone else asked her to dance,

그는 말하길

he would say,

그녀는 내 댄스 파트너예요.

"She is my dance partner."

밤이 찾아와 신데렐라가 떠나고 싶을 적에

When evening came Cinderella wanted to leave,

그리고 왕자는 그녀를 데려다 주려고 하자

and the prince tried to escort her,

그러나 그녀는 그에게서 너무 빠르게 도망쳤고

but she ran away from him so quickly

그래서 그는 그녀를 쫓을 수 없었습니다.

that he could not follow her.

왕자는 하지만 함정을 설치해둔것이었습니다.

The prince, however, had set a trap.

그는 계단 전체에 끈적한 피치를 발라 두었어요.

He had had the entire stairway smeared with pitch.

그녀가 계단으로 내려갈 적에

When she ran down the stairs,

그녀의 왼쪽 신발이 피치에 걸렸고

her left slipper stuck in the pitch.

왕자는 그것을 집었습니다.

The prince picked it up.

그것은 작고 깨끗했고 순금이었습니다.

It was small and dainty, and of pure gold.
