The next morning,

그는 신발을 가지고 남자에게 가서 그에게 말하길

he went with it to the man, and said to him,

그 누구도 아내로 맡이하지 않겠어요

"No one shall be my wife

이 황금 신발과 맞는 발을 가지고 있는 사람이 아니라면

except for the one whose foot fits this golden shoe."

두 자매는 그것을 듣고 너무 기뻤습니다.

The two sisters were happy to hear this,

그들은 예쁜 발을 가지고 있었기 때문에

for they had pretty feet.

그녀의 엄마와 함께 서서는

With her mother standing by,

첫째 자매가 그녀의 침대로 신발을 가지고가 신어보았습니다.

the older one took the shoe into her bedroom to try it on.

그녀는 큰 발끝은 신발에 맞을 수 없었어요.

She could not get her big toe into it,

그 신발은 그녀에게 너무 작았기 때문이예요.

for the shoe was too small for her.

그러자 그녀의 엄마가 칼을 가지고 와서 말하길

Then her mother gave her a knife and said,

발끝을 잘라내자

"Cut off your toe.

네가 여왕이 되면

When you are queen

너는 더 이상 걸어다닐 필요도 없을 거야.

you will no longer have to go on foot."

소녀는 그녀의 발끝을 잘랐습니다.

The girl cut off her toe,

신발에 그녀의 발을 강제로 넣었고

forced her foot into the shoe,

고통을 삼키며

swallowed the pain,

왕자에게로 갔습니다.

and went out to the prince.

그는 그녀를 그의 말에 태웠고

He took her on his horse

그녀를 신부로써 그녀와 함께 가던 중이었습니다.

as his bride and rode away with her.

하지만 그들은 무덤을 지나가야 했고

However, they had to ride past the grave,

그곳의 헤이즐 나무 위에서

and there, on the hazel tree,

두 마리의 비둘기가 앉아있었고 지저귀길

sat the two pigeons, crying out:

로크디구 로크디구

Rook di goo, rook di goo!

저 신발 안이 피투성이야.

There's blood in the shoe.

그 신발은 너무 꽉 끼여.

The shoe is too tight,

그 신부는 진짜가 아니야!

This bride is not right!

그래서 그는 그녀의 발을 보았고

Then he looked at her foot

얼마나 많은 피가 그곳에서 흘러나는지 보았습니다.

and saw how the blood was running from it.
