This story first appeared in Flash Fiction Magazine. Read it here.
Hello and welcome to “Stories from the Arcade,” where we take an old game and give it a backstory.
This week’s game is a piece of Flash Fiction, called “Ghost Food.” It originally appeared in Flash Fiction Magazine.
If you think you can guess which game inspired this week’s story, go to arcadestories.substack.com, and subscribe. Then feel free to comment.
If you guess correctly, I’ll get in touch with you, and you can decide what the next game is that I write about, within reason. These are early arcade games, for the most part, without much backstory of their own that is widely known.
(I’m not entirely satisfied with the audio of this piece and may replace it, if I can—still trying out Substack to make sure it’s a good fit.)
