We learn about ghost medicine, offerings, and how the roma (mother) makes gems (babies), as well as whether or not ghosts are male/female. Vi meets a Sibyllus, who seems to like her.

This is "patchwork" writing: sections/scenes without the connecting piece. It turned out to be a good way to get back into the world after a break from writing, as well as to not be overwhelmed by the task of introducing the world of ghosts.
