In 2024, narrative control is the single biggest threat to our way of life in America.
Here in little ol' Reno, Nv, the battle for political power is waged through narrative control. In Washoe County, some of our public officials trade integrity for power, faith for narratives, and understanding for oppression.
In this episode, I take a step back from hosting RenoCast and turn the conversation over to Gianna Jacks and Scott Meyer, as I take a witness role in understanding events in our Washoe County Libraries. What I learned both in researching for this cast and presenting it was a shock to the system that has left me appalled.
I applaud Gianna's efforts! I thought it was particularly clever of her to turn to a mainstream, neutral, rock and roll entertainment podcast, to ask if she could, "de-politicize," the situation. It worked out well since her content was about promoting events. I mean, who knows more about promoting live events than me? Especially in Reno!
So fans, what do we do as a community when political antagonists and social oppressors like Jeff Scott, Director of the Washoe County Library, abandon neutrality, amass absolute power in their position, and begin to impose their agendas on the community without reasonable discourse?
I don't know. And I'm turning to my fellow Renoans for answers.
