──What inspired you to create this film for GIFF 2025?
I was inspired by the community. I really love how geocaching brings people together, so I wanted the film to reflect that spirit. I organized three separate events - one for each scene - and anyone who wanted to join could simply show up and be part of it. It felt natural and authentic, and that was exactly the atmosphere I wanted to capture.
──How many people worked on your film, and how long did the production take?
It was a small group of real geocachers. We had around four actors, but I was the main actor as well as the director, responsible for putting the whole movie together. The production happened over the three event days and then continued with editing afterward.
──What was the most memorable or challenging part of making your film?
The most memorable part was definitely seeing the community come together for the filming. People were excited to contribute, and their energy made the process really fun. The challenge was coordinating everything across the three events and making sure each scene worked well both for the camera and for the people participating.
──Is there a moment in your film that you hope geocachers around the world will notice or appreciate?
Yes - the way our film highlights the importance of events in our Polish geocaching community. I think many geocachers around the world will relate to that. Events are at the heart of this hobby, and they're what make geocaching truly special: meeting new people, sharing stories, and building friendships.
──Please share a message for geocachers in Japan.
Please continue doing what you're doing! You create wonderfully creative and playful geocaches. I visited Japan last year - Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and even Deer Island near Hiroshima - where I found my very first FTF in Japan. It was a bonus to an Adventure Lab, and it was an unforgettable moment. I hope to return one day and explore even more of your amazing caches!
