Having the Holy Spirit is one of the signs of being called a child of God. Godly things are spiritual and therefore done by the power of His Spirit; for when the Holy Spirit is in you, it gives you power to do godly things like prayer, forgivenes etc.(Acts 2:36-39 / Acts 1:8)
