It had to come sometime, and Gillingham’s first home defeat in the league came on a wet and miserable Tuesday night at Priestfield as a below-par side were beaten by a very professional performance by visiting Grimsby Town.
Remarkably, and thankfully, Gillingham’s defeat didn’t affect the team’s league position, with results elsewhere going our way to ensure the team stayed at the top of League 2, despite that defeat. On the flipside, it was a chance missed to move four points clear at the top of the table.
After a disappointing night, Owen and Tom jump online to share their views on the game, on how the team changes affected our performance, and give some thoughts on what’s to come.
