It was second versus first at Priestfield as Gillingham played host to Barrow, as new Gills boss Mark Bonner put his new-look Gills side up against the man he replaced, Stephen Clemence.

The former Gills head coach got a warm reception from the Gills fans as he returned to Priestfield, but that hospitality didn’t extent to the pitch, as Bonner’s Gills put on a solid if unspectacular performance to defeat Clemence’s Barrow side 2-0, with goals from Jayden Clarke and Robbie McKenzie securing the three points for the Gills.

After Gillingham’s win Owen Stanley hosted The ME7 Podcast’s regular live audio show on X Spaces, as he, along with a few fellow Gills fans, recapped the day’s events as Gillingham returned to the top of League 2 with 19 points from eight league games played.
