Emmy Award winner Gioia Timpanelli is often refered to as the 'Dean of American Storytelling' because of her contribution to the revival of the craft. Ms. Timpanelli won the 1999 American Book Award for "Sometimes the Soul: The Two Novellas of Sicily."
