In this mid-season finale, I talk about how Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems promising with its lineup of upcoming movies and TV series that foreground characters of diverse backgrounds, including gender and race. It took a long time to get there. But I wonder: is this a moment or a movement? I look back at past MCU outings and attempts to be representative of diverse characters. It hasn’t always been a hit, but could things change from this point forward?
