September 05, 2024Nick PurlerSend us a textWe've been looking forward to this interview since we started the podcast! We all know Nicks wrestling background. We'll list his amazing accomplishments below. But in this episode we're going to focus more on how PWA (Purler Wrestling Academy) came to fruition. There's so many good things that I could write here about Nick and the PWA family. I wanted to write something from my perspective. The wrestling parents perspective. The amount of gratitude my family has for Nick and PWA is immeasurable! The lessons that they teach go far beyond the mat. In a world where mediocrity seems to be rewarded, PWA demands 100% effort. Not only because that is what it takes to win on the mat, but that's what it takes to win at life. PWA took my cheerleader and turned her into a wrestling machine! She holds herself accountable, gives everything in life her all, is a leader on and off the mat, she's hyper focused and goal driven. Most of which is due to her attending PWA! Because of all of that, she's already gotten scholarship offers to wrestle in college!!! Nick, on behalf of all of the parents and wrestlers, THANK YOU! Thank you for all that you do to have such a positive impact on our children! April 26, 2024Coach AJ Carter-JohnsonSend us a textEven if you've never met Coach AJ, you've seen him. He's the guy in the Purler jacket at every tournament. You can't miss him, he's the guy that's always smiling and looks like there's no place he'd rather be at then a wrestling tournament supporting his athletes. You can always find him giving a pep talk or some good coaching before a match. He literally seems to be at every tournament, even when he's not coaching. And the athletes love him for that!! You have no idea how many times I've heard "there's Coach AJ, I'll be right back". Or "I talked to Coach AJ, I feel better now". To be honest, I'd only met him a few times, and very briefly. But the way he has the admiration and respect of the wrestlers, I knew he had to be a special coach. Thank you Coach AJ for all that you do for the sport of wrestling!
