Arlene Cogen is an experienced Philanthropic Leadership Consultant who works closely with professional advisors, nonprofits and their clients to integrate philanthropy into personal, financial and estate plans to make a charitable gift one never imagined. Arlene’s passion is fostering deep relationships, engaging the next generation, and making a lasting difference through leadership and philanthropy.
Arlene, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), spent over 20 years in the trust and investment world on the leadership teams of US Trust of NY, Citibank and First Union (now Wells Fargo). Desiring change and the opportunity to give back, Arlene later acquired nonprofit development expertise and excellence helping guide the ninth largest community foundation in the country for almost a decade.
Arlene is an accomplished speaker, trainer, coach, and the author of GIVE TO LIVE: Make a Charitable Gift You Never Imagined. She teaches from experience and shares what she learned during her extensive career. Arlene’s clients range from nonprofits to professional advisors including: Samuels Yoelin Kanter, Northwest Investment Counselors, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette, Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, National Christian Foundation, and US Bank Charitable Services.
