The Tuskegee University Endowment Scholarship was established in August 2022 by Ms. Lawanna Renee Barron, BCD, LCSW, ACSW, this endowed scholarship will be awarded annually to students enrolled in the Tuskegee University Bachelor of Social Work Program and Master of Social Work Program. It serves to honor the legacy of a professional social worker who greatly impacted our nation and numerous communities. Lawanna Barron’s first job as a federal civilian social worker was at the Department of Veteran Affairs Hospital in Tuskegee, Alabama.
