Ps 24:1-6; Ps. 50:7-14 We give because we can − we have a rich Father.

Prov 3:9 Give the best, and make it a priority.

James 1: 22 “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.”

Mal 3:8-12 God says to prove Him in this area.

Mat 6:1- 4 We give not to be seen by men.

Luke 6:36 – 38 Be generous in all our giving (mercy, forgiveness, etc.).

Luke 12:13 – 33 What will you do with your abundance? Store it away?

Luke 12:34 Where is your treasure?

Luke 20:45-47; 21:1-4 Widow gave a lot (for her).

1 Cor. 4:1 and 2, 7 What do you have that you didn’t receive?

2 Cor 8:11-15 Not just good intention, but follow through

2 Cor 8:19-24 Have integrity. Be beyond reproach.

2 Cor. 9:1-6 They had planned to give. This purpose was in their hearts to do.

2 Cor 9:7 Don’t give reluctantly or under compulsion. Follow through on what you planned to give. (1 Chron 29:8 and 9 –The people gave willingly and with joy!)

2 Cor 9:8 We have sufficiency. God blesses us.

1 Tim 6:17 As we have more, we can give more.

Phil 4:10-20 God will supply our need.

We want our giving to flow freely from a thankful heart. We want to give of our time, talents, finances not out of obligation and duty or in anticipation of promised blessings but out of a grateful life honoring our generous God.
