The Chofetz Chaim in his introduction to his Sefer Chofetz Chaim on the laws of forbidden speech, Lashon Horah (slander), lists the various positive and negative commandments that are found in the Torah that pertain to this area of life. Among them is the well known Mitzvah of V'ahavta L’reiacha Kamocha - the obligation to love one's fellow Jew as oneself.
