Giving Thanks for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is more than a holiday—it's a posture of the heart. It's easy to get caught up in the food, the family gatherings, and the traditions, but at its core, Thanksgiving is an invitation to pause and recognize the goodness of God. Scripture reminds us, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to what we've been given.
Maybe this year feels heavy. Perhaps the table has an empty chair, or your heart carries quiet burdens. Still, gratitude doesn't ignore pain; it gives us strength in the midst of it. When we say, "Thank You, Lord," we are choosing to trust that His hand is steady and His love is unchanging.
Thanksgiving becomes sacred when it moves beyond one day and becomes our daily rhythm. Each sunrise, each breath, each act of kindness is a reminder of His faithfulness. As the psalmist declares, "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever" (Psalm 107:1).
Today, may your heart be filled with more than turkey and pie—may it overflow with the deep joy of knowing God's goodness never ends.
