   Thanksgiving is an expression of gratitude for the past deeds or acts of God.  The natural man is “need” conscious.  Anytime He has an opportunity to talk to God, He only wants to talk to Him about His needs.  But those who remember to thank God for His past deeds, may never need to talk to Him about their next need.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  (KJV)

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
