This is Carter Conlon. Psalm 104, beginning at verse 14, “He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth, and wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man’s heart.“

This Psalm tells you and I that the Lord provides sustenance for everything that He has created. Gladness is part of the abundant life that Jesus promised to give us. Another part is an exterior confidence that testifies to the inward presence of a never-failing God. And lastly, He gives provision through every promise to us to do in us what He alone is able to perform. Don’t live today beneath what God desires for you and is able to give you. Let Him become your all and all today.
