There are two main forms of glaucoma that we’re discussing today, open angle and closed/narrow angle glaucoma. 

Open angle glaucoma is the most common type of glaucoma. It is generally a progressive disease that is symptomless, until it affects vision. Peripheral and side vision is affected, leading to central vision loss and untreated it can cause total vision blindness.

The effects of glaucoma cannot be reversed. But with treatment the progression of the disease can be slowed down or prevent permanent vision loss.
