The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel did an article on the “The 50 Wisconsin musicians with the biggest impact over the past 100 years.” On that list was Glenn Yarbrough, the Milwaukee native with the angelic voice. After a private concert with Woody Guthrie in his college dorm room, he was inspired to pick up guitar. By 1960 he formed the popular folk trio the Limeliters and later went solo with a hit that made it to no. 12 on the Billboard charts. When I spoke with him, he was headed back to Milwaukee for a concert with the Limeliters.
