"This article references the 1920s, when people thought because the telephone existed that people were more lonely, weren't making those in person connections. This article also makes the case that we are sort of not valuing enough virtual connection and that we pay a premium on physical connections compared to virtual connections, and that these virtual connections via Zoom or telephone, any other social media application that these are, can be just as valuable as in person connections."
