My glory days on
both sides now.
To stand in
the swaying masses,
and belch your
deepest profound joy
at the masters of the stage,
and let them
rock you away
in a hard lullaby of sound,
and come from there
moved deeply
and satisfied
by it all
to the very depth
of your core,
is a true concert
of magic for all souls
Forget the price or
The long wait to park
And the ridiculous cost
Of one beer....
The band made it
all worthwhile
and then some.. .
but wait, even better
to be on
that stage pouring
your inspiration
like water
over the massed heads,
blessing them
with your soul
transcribed into
multi-eighth notes
and beaten skins
and the wails from
the vocalist
And the lead
guitars
soprano squeals,
while the base
moves bottoms
to grind rhythmically
that is truly
heaven on earth,
to hold thousands
in your grasp
for hours,
such power is
unstoppable......
having been in both
places in my life,
and having known
both sides,
I can truly say
I was charmed,
and have moved on to
other pursuits
without regrets,
but God I miss
that roar of adoration
and the pure
electronic sounds
of raw talent
unleashed
to set the crowd free
