Pagan cultures praise self-exaltation and despise humility, but Christ descends to save the lowly, killing pride at the cross and giving the sinner a new name, not earned but bled for.

The only boast that saves is the one that ruins the boaster and glorifies the Savior:

Christ crucified for sinners.
