Sometimes I find myself thinking about, well, myself. I consider my own comforts and personal tastes. If I am uncomfortable with a situation, my first instinct is to pray to God to remove me from it, or it from me, or somehow make it better. All of us struggle with this. We are self-interested by nature.I have to remember that God—in His infinite glory—is not particularly worried about my own comfort in a situation. God cares about me. God cares about me absolutely. But God’s greatest desire is to bring glory to Himself. There is no conflict between my true best interest and God’s glory. When God is glorified, people can see Him as He truly is: infinite, powerful, and all-loving. And if they can see those things through my reactions to life’s struggles, my purpose in life is revealed.
When Jesus came to Earth and lived a perfect life, and died on the cross, He did so to glorify God. And we should give God the glory in our daily lives, too. 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
This week, you can reach your world as you go about your daily life. Don’t resent the challenges that come, I encourage you; you can glorify God in your actions and reactions. This is Andrew Palau.
