GLT 008: Feeding starving children with Alpha Tau Omega at Illinois

Listen Later

Every day, an estimated 6,200 children around the world die from hunger-related illnesses. In a country like the United States, where we have so much food, it’s hard to imagine how this is possible. Since 2016, Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at the University of Illinois has been doing their part to address this crisis through their partnership with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC).

With the help of their alumni, parents and many others, the chapter has brought two MobilePack events to campus, through which they have packed more than 210,000 meals.
This is the story of how ATO got connected with FMSC, how they managed to raise the $22,000 to bring the MobilePack to campus, and how their work is making a difference in the world.
In this episode, you’ll learn how to:

* plan an event of this magnitude
* drum up support from your own members as well as other chapters.
* harness the power of diverse stakeholders to better the world.
