When the razor sharp
shards of your
life gets you down
and that glass stage
you once ruled has
cruelly been ground
into your weary flesh
cutting deep in your heart
while the rage in your soul
wants to tear you apart
Step away from it all
make a brand
new fresh start
failure still holds a lure
for the taste of success
set your mind to go
after something more
from what’s left
But go easy on it
go easy on it....
Tiptoe past all the shit
that has you left in chains
depression will only bring
you far more pains
it’s time to recommit
clear your head
of what’s gone
stand up tall
and move on
look back on it all
with a smile and a yawn
You are better than this
there’s just no need to quit
dust off all of your dreams
it’s not as hard as it seems
so go easy on it
Don’t grow numb if it’s love ~~~ <3
that has set you aside
there are girls just like you
who have all been denied
each one looking for someway
to regain their pride
satisfy what they seek
and they’ll stay by your side

never been paid
what your due
when you’ve worked
so damned hard
some folks don’t have a clue
find some better employment
that will bring you enjoyment
schedule lots of appointments
don’t sit home in avoidance

there’s no need to just quit
Just dust off your dreams

And if you’re a musician
who sits around wishing
for what other guys have
after all your attempts
that you’ve made
through the years
each song met
with contempt?
then the answers quite clear
not every one makes it
but there’s no
need to forsake it
if most of your joy
comes from your writing music
and it helps you to cope
when life can be abusing
then stick with your craft
cause you know it’s not crap.
It’s your way of expressing
what leaves other folks guessing
it’s a God given blessing
give voice to your dreams
it’s not as hard as it seems
there is no need to quit
if you don’t have a hit
music’s your fondest friend
so go easy on it.
Your work is far more legit
than all that pop pulp they picked
and one never knows
what your fate might submit
so just go easy on it
