Members Reviews:
A charming message for both kids and adults.
This book is as relevant today as it will be tomorrow.
It carries a transcendent message as great children's books often do: We tend to get caught up in getting caught up.
The book's main character, Goo, is no different. Fortunately for us (and him), Goo eventually learns to slow down and take it all in. I mean come on, he's a snail after all! As Goo becomes increasingly self-appreciative, he discovers that it's more than just important to be yourself. It's essential.
Great read!
My four year old son got this one for Christmas, and really enjoys reading it at story time. Always his first choice.
Good Message!
This is a cute book. It's similar to other picture books I've read with my kids, but that didn't count against it. Goo is a snail that (obviously) moves very slowly. He wishes he could move quickly like his friends, so he tries building various appendages like wings and long legs to help him go faster. Of course, these inventions are more disastrous than helpful and Goo gets frustrated until one of his friends needs help finding her eggs. Goo's slow and careful method proves more effective than his friends' frantic searching.
The illustrations are charming and bright. I love the message that our perceived shortcomings may actually be our strengths. This is a cute book with a great message for preschoolers and kids in the younger grades of elementary.

Five Stars
Have a three year old boy and this is now on his nightly reading list.
Lovely Story
This book was a real Christmas gift treasure; my nephew enjoyed it so much the first time we read it together he asked for it to be read twice.
