There was a time when we called the Big Cypress Swamp a watershed and described it as fire adapted.  No longer!  Today we better understand it as a mosaic of habitats that include swamp, but more correctly is described as a mosaic, and which is both flood and fire adapted.  So goes flood and fire, so goes the mosaic.  Find out more at http://www.gohydrology.org/water-room/swamp
