We are in the month of July, commonly known or referred to as disability pride month, a month-long celebration that takes place every year to recognize the achievements, lives, and cultures of the individuals who are abled differently.
Disability Pride helps people living with different types of disabilities to embrace who they are as individuals.
Also whilst taking pride in dissability, we need to go an extra mile in taking pride in our dissability heroic warriors. Just as July is also Mandela month, a month set aside to encouraging people to do good and also celebrate those who are doing good, its also fair to put to spotlight our disabled heroic people.
Our celebrated heroine today is mme Kebawetse Sebola, a 61 years old mother of three from Thabazimbi, in Limpopo province. Mme Kebawetse encountered a terrible ordeal of a car accident a little less than 9 years ago, which led to her right leg being amputated. Mme Kebawetse has since been an active role model in her community as a voluntary counsellor to all people with various kinds of life challenges.
