We are officially concluding the month of August, one which is popularly known as women’s month. The overall objective of this month’s commemoration is to not only acknowledge and pledge support to women through their challenges, but to also celebrate those who have gone an extra mile to ensure that they do well in their lives regardless of the challenges they’ve encountered.
Women go through various multiple storms of challenges, and have to constantly prove themselves and their worthy and capabilities. This is all as a result of a toxic culture that has been in existence for many many moons ago. Luckily the current society has pledged an end to this and introduced various beneficial programs aiming to empower women to do better.
Of all the various groups of women who do face various challenges, the most unrecognised group struggling and doing the best is disabled women. Disabled women face two times the challenges faced by other women because they have to deal with disability challenges first before tackling other challenges in-front of them.
Luckily many if not most of them, they do conquer and overcome burdening challenges regardless of their disability conditions. Like our guest for today; Miss Nametsegang Patience Phola. The 39 years old paraplegic mother of two from Kuruman has overcome so many challenges in her life, so much that dissability was not going to be a new challenge to supress her down for good. She emerged victorious from the ordeal to take charge of her life as a woman, mother of two and a grandchild of one.
