We are still in the middle of August, a month set aside to commemorate and give the necessary needed honour to women for the selfless efforts they have continuously taken to help sharpen our society to be the best it can ever be.

Whilst commemorating the selfless struggles and efforts women have made to help us to emerge as a better nation, it is important to also note the hardships they face that include amongst others, having to constantly prove themselves and their worth. It is no secret that women do face enormous amount of challenges, but for disabled women it always emerges as twice the challenges. Disabled women can face challenges brought to them by their disability conditions, but how they emerge above all that is what makes them women of worth.

Today on our intent of learning more about emerging from challenges brought by disabilities, we have invited Mrs Karabo Onnicca Mokgatlhe, a left above knee amputee.

Mme Mokgatlhe came across an unfortunate accident a little less than six years ago which saw her losing her above knee left leg. On a path to learn new life with artificial leg she had another incident of falling, fracturing her right arm which led to minimal use of it as well.

After all the unfortunate experiences with long lasting devastating impacts, mme Mokgatlha still rose to her rightful position of being a mother and a wife, a rightful leader of her family.
