God Amidst the Wreckage is a podcast of portions of the worship service at Laguna Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dr. Kathy Sizer is preaching on Psalm 147 and Mark 1:29-33.  We are also celebrating Scout Sunday at the 10am service. It is the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time. 

This morning we welcome Doug Smith, Finger Style Acoustic Guitarist in worship. Doug has joined in leading worship at LPC on several occasions over the past 8 years. We are blessed to know Doug and graced by his presence and musical gifts and talents. Doug Smithand#8217;s Offertory, and#8220;Blessed Assurance,and#8221; and Postlude, and#8220;Renewaland#8221; are both included on this recording.

About Doug: Acoustic Guitarist Doug Smith is a Grammy Award Winner and the 2006 winner of the prestigious Winfield International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition. His playing has been heard on the big screen in the popular 2007 film August Rush and his original compositions are heard everywhere from NPR to TCM to Martha Stewart to Good morning America. His playing combines folk, classical and jazz elements and has been called “a cross between Chet Atkins, Leo Kottke and Michael Hedges.”
