For the next few weeks, the programs will be commentary on a tour through the Boston Freedom Trail.

In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, over the next few weeks I plan to do a number of programs covering Biblical lessons drawn from the American Revolution.  This week is about the providence of God in America’s founding.

This week’s program is another refutation of Communism/Socialism.  “To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you” (Philippians 3:1).  I cover three errors of Marxism  (1) the pragmatic, Communism does not work argument, (2) the moral, “Thou shalt not steal” argument, and (3) the victimhood error of blaming the system.

In Ezekiel 18, God corrects the Jewish nation for blaming others for their troubles rather than taking personal responsibility.  Sound familiar?  The same cultural attitudes in ancient Israel’s decline will appear in America’s decline.

Jehoshaphat was a king of Israel who became an example of the Christian who compromises with the world.

Since I will be traveling this week, there is no video, but instead, the radio broadcast and Scripture slides.  The subject is Melchizedek.  The lasting influence of Melchizedek on the Gibeonites and Jebusites may have been why those Canaanite tribes were not destroyed but integrated into the Jewish population.   We will meet many of Melchizedek’s people in heaven.  Such is the lasting influence of the righteous.

This week is a book review of Ivan Alexandrovich Ilyin's book “On Resistance to Evil by Force,” written in 1925.  This book refutes Tolstoy’s passivism toward evil, which pervaded Russian thinking and contributed to the Communist takeover.  Some of the same elements of Communism in the 1920s are identical to the Left’s thinking today.
