God and Humility.

Finding Joy in the Mystery of Scripture

My name is Jonathan and for decades, I’ve been on a journey with the Bible, and I’ve found that the more I engage with it—heart and mind—the more profound my experience of joy and peace becomes.

It’s a journey that involves our whole selves.

Intellectually, we can stay curious, even when we encounter ideas that challenge us. We don't have to have all the answers. In fact, scripture honors the process of seeking.

Emotionally, we can choose to remain open and teachable, rather than becoming defensive. This allows us to receive the wisdom woven throughout its pages.

"A wise person will hear and increase learning, and a person of understanding will attain wise counsel." - Proverbs 1:5

And spiritually, we can rest in a deep trust, saying, "God, You are in control of eternity. You hold my soul. I have nothing to fear because You have provided the way."

"For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." - Proverbs 2:6

This approach leads to a beautiful discovery: the Bible isn't about us. It’s a revelation of the fullness of Christ—the Logos, the Word made flesh, the King, God Himself. It’s in Him that the find more than we could ever dream of.

"that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." - Colossians 2:2-3

This is the hope we hold and the hope that compels us to live humbly and to share the glory we've found in Jesus.

Thank you for reading.
