God is both the means by which you get there and the reward you receive at the end of the journey. This teaching confronts the dangerous tendency to treat God as a means to an end, using Him to obtain blessings while making Him redundant once those blessings arrive. Through the story of Ben's dream about wealth requiring him to mortgage his peace, we examine how God builds character in seasons of obscurity where loyalty is tested. The devil cannot bless you with what was not written in your books to receive. This is for you if you've been angry with God for gifts He gave to others, or if you're learning to find rest in God's finished work rather than striving for what you think you need.
