Miracle of Mercy
God Can Use Anybody. Pastor Michael Dascoli
April 18, 2021
“…give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life.
So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.”
Romans 6:13b NLT
“God in His mercy has given us this work to do, and so we are not discouraged.” 2Corinthians 4:1 GNT
1: It’s all because of God’s mercy
Mercy = undeserved forgiveness and unearned kindness
“You know what I was like… how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it. 15 But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by His marvelous grace.” Galatians 1:13, 15a NLT
2: Be real
“…we have turned away from secret and shameful ways. We use no trickery, and we do not change the teaching of God. We teach the truth plainly, showing everyone who we are. Then they can know in their hearts what kind of people we are in God’s sight.” 2Corinthians 4:2 NCV
3: It’s never been about me anyway
“…our Message is not about ourselves; we’re proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master.
All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you.” 2Corinthians 4:5: Msg
4: I can use my pain to help others
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2Corinthians 1:3-4
“We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don’t know what to do, we never give up. In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 CEV
“All of these sufferings of ours are for your benefit…” 2 Corinthians 4:15 LB
5: Stay focused on eternity
“…our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2Corinthians 4:17
