Today’s Scripture:
Psalm 34:19 KJV
[19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
Most of us are going through something in our lives. None of us are without trials and afflictions. As a matter of fact, we are always going through some afflictions because we are alive. Once you are alive, you will face afflictions. Sometimes, we wish that God would prevent these trials, prevent us from losing that child, prevent us from that cancer diagnosis, prevent us from dealing with that divorce, prevent us from failing that exam or test, prevent us from that job loss, or prevent you from dealing with that persecution that caused us to be hated in our family.
But that's not how God seems to do things. Yes, God can prevent it, but God chooses to deliver out of it instead of from it. Family, God delivers out of, not from. So, if you are one who prays for God to prevent the afflictions or trials, I have news for you. He will not prevent it but deliver you out of it.
For example, Daniel was living for God when they plotted against him to bring him down because he prayed to God 3 times a day. The consequences were that he would be thrown into the lion's den if he didn't comply with the king. I believe that God could have prevented it from happening. But God allowed them to throw Daniel into the lion's den. When this happens, God now shows his power. He shut the mounts of the lions and allowed Daniel to come out victorious, unto touches, and the ones that plotted against him were thrown into the lion's den and were eaten up before they reached the bottom of the den. God's a deliverer; he delivers us out of it, not from it.
Another example is the 3 Hebrew boys in the fire furnace. God could have prevented it. But instead, he allowed them to be thrown into the fire furnace. When this happens, the Bible says, there was a fourth man in the fire! Jesus Christ himself. Again, this is when God shows his power; that's how he gets his glory; he powerfully delivers them, and the king himself praises God and restores the 3 Hebrew boys. Yes, our God delivers out of the fire furnace, not from it. I know we would rather not be in the furnace, but God is teaching us that he can deliver us out of every situation, no matter what we face.
Thus, the Bible says, Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them all. Here is the thing: family, God delivered him out of, not from it but out of them all. He's not delivering us out of some, but he delivered us out of them all. Trust him; he will never allow the righteous to be forsaken. The Bible says affliction will not come a second time (Nahum 1;9). Our God delivers out of them all.
