A personal look at the turmoil we face when dealing with life storms, God Didn't Calm the Storm: Instead, He Calmed Me takes a raw look at the emotional battles which ensue, how our spiritual sensibilities are sometimes overwhelmed by fleshly emotions, and what results when our spiritual sensibilities take over. short and to the point
This is an excellent book that helps us to take a deeper look at ourselves when we encounter tough times in life. As Christians we default to either not trusting in God when things are hard, or asking Him to take away the tough times rather than looking to Him, and ourselves, to understand how and why we are having this tough time to begin with. I love that it includes some sample prayers that include scriptures. Sample prayers are always helpful for me because sometimes I'm not certain exactly how I should pray. This book is awesome for EVERYONE because we will all encounter tough times in our life. Since this book is short, sweet, and to the point, you'll be able to read it quickly and immediately begin to apply it to your current storm.
A very good short read!
A short read that discusses the types of storms we encounter and how we respond. I found it most interesting that Jacqui pointed out how some storms are the ones we create and others we have no control over as with Job,,, yet regardless we have a 'choice'... and with God guidance and our right response, we can not only get through and over the storm, but come out victorious.
The book is an easy read yet carries a profound message
The book is an easy read yet carries a profound message. The hallmark of this bool is the simplicity in which it provides practical strategies, based upon scripture, for dealing with life's complex circumstances. I have been blessed by reading this book and utilizing the included journal for personal reflection and devotion.
Thoughtful and Encouraging
The book offers clarity in navigating personal and spiritual problems. The workbook component encourages actions to apply great ideas to solve immediate challenges. I'll gift the physical book for others to benefit.
