Rejoice in the Lord...Always!

God is Bigger Than My Fear

Listen Later

II Chronicles Ch. 20 . . . . Faced with what looked like a battle of insurmountable odds, King Jehoshaphat admitted he was afraid and called on all of Judah to fast and ask God for help. Sometimes we feel that we are faced with similar situations. What do we do? This passage in II Chronicles Chapter 20 has some great examples of how to handle our fears in today’s world. First, know that it’s ok to be afraid. When you are afraid, go to church. You have a supportive family there. When you feel doubt, praise God in the midst of your troubles.  He will be your comfort and safety. Don’t worry, be prayerful and turn over your concerns to God. Stand up and wait on God. When you ask Him to fix it, don’t try to do it yourself. He is bigger than your problems and fear. Ultimately, the battle belongs to the Lord. Let Him do the fighting. But, don’t abandon the battlefield. Show up for the fight, know that God is with you, and fight with Him. It’s a matter of attitude. Walk victorious, unafraid. Sometimes, God has what seem like crazy battle plans that don’t make sense to us. Letting God fight our battles will bring a mighty witness and peace. Just look at the example God gives us in what He did for Jehoshaphat. He can do that for you, too.
