God is God - Psalm 46:10 Meditation

Listen Later

Help your kids learn to be still and know that God is God (Three in One).

That word “God” is Elohiym - and it is plural, which means it is more than one person. Like the word y’all is for more than one person.

God is Father, God is Son (Jesus), and God is the Holy Spirit.

The words “be still” mean to stop moving. Freeze like a statue. Or a sloth.

God tells us to be still, like sloth, and know that He is the Father, that He is the Son- Jesus, and that He is the Holy Spirit. They are all different and have different jobs, but they are all God.

Verse:

"Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation.

Psalm 46:10 (NLT)

Ask Your Kids:

  • What does it mean to be still?
  • Why is it hard for us to be still and listen to God?
  • How can you be still and listen to God?

Engage Your Kids:

  • Have a short “quiet time” with your kids.
  • Sing “Be Still and Know that I am God” song.
  • Say, “let’s pretend like we are sloths and hold really still while we think about God.”
  • End with the song, “Good morning God, this is your day, I am your child, show me your way.
