... suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope ...
Romans 5:3-4
During my youth, sports were an outlet for my competitive drive. I participated in many of them. My coaches, determined to have the best possible team, demanded excellence. They regularly made notes on each person’s performance. After one especially difficult practice, I was sure that I would not be chosen to play in the next game. I asked God for help.
Walking home that day, I decided to focus on doing my best and to leave the rest to God. I did and soon found my name on the roster of players selected. That experience changed me. I learned to trust in God.
I have faced numerous personal and professional challenges since then. God has been with me in every
trial.
