God is not proud of you.
God does not endorse being proud or of being prideful, no matter the good reason.
I know many of us are so, so, so use to saying “I’m so proud…we’re so proud…They are so proud of me, of them, of you…” when what we are really feeling is happiness, joy, satisfaction, contentment, excitement, hopeful etc…though there are a few that are actually proud of the work of their hands, their business, their children, friends, or of their colleagues…to which I say
“God opposes the proud, but shows favor to the humble.”James 4:6.
God calls us to be humble in all ways, and to be proud in no such way…and I believe that includes being proud over good things. There is a way to express positive feelings over something without resorting to being proud of it, i.e. all the feelings I mentioned above. There is a way to even be humble in your responses to your own accomplishments.
So listen to me when I say that God is not proud of you, rather, he is pleased with you for sure.
