God Is the Judge — Not Me

God Is the Judge — Not Me

“You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.” - Romans 14:10.

We live in a time when it’s easy to judge others. On social media, in school, even at church, you often hear things like, “That person isn’t a real Christian,” or “They’re doing everything wrong.” But in Romans 14:10, Paul gives us a clear and powerful reminder: we are not the judge — God is.

Every single one of us — whether strong or weak in faith — will stand before the same judgment seat of God. That means we’ll each give an account of our own lives, not someone else’s.

When we judge others, we’re trying to take God’s place. And that’s dangerous. Only God sees the heart. Only God knows what someone is truly going through.

Instead of judging, Paul calls us to do something else: look inward. Examine your own heart. Focus on your walk with God. The more time you spend letting God shape you, the less time you’ll have to criticize others.

Takeaway for Today:

- Before you speak negatively or think poorly of someone, remember: you’ll stand before God too.

- Replace judgment with prayer. Pray for your friends and fellow believers.

- Don’t look down on someone who’s struggling in their faith — reach out and encourage them.

- Ask God to give you a humble heart that wants to grow, not point fingers.

Prayer:

“Lord, help me to stop focusing on the faults of others and start looking honestly at my own life before You. Teach me to live with humility, love, and reverence, knowing that we all will stand before Your judgment seat. May I never try to take Your place as Judge, but instead be someone who encourages and builds up others in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
