Synopsis: Jesus tells the parable of a woman who keeps pestering an unrighteous judge. The judge does not like the woman nor fears God. But because she is annoying, he grants her justice to dispose of her presence. On first read, it appears Jesus is saying God is like this judge and people need to go to God with their problems to get justice, but I don't think that is the case. I think Jesus is saying people are like the unrighteous judge and God is the widow begging for justice, but we sit on our throne unwilling to let justice roll down like water or righteousness like an overflowing stream. If we are going to be good stewards of our money, we will need to start seeing and listening to those who are on the margins. We must give of our resources to help the poor. God is like the widow who keeps bothering us with what is just. It's time for us to listen. It's time for us to give.
