In this episode titled God Loves Gays, Tweety talks about how the obstacle that’s in her way of having a relationship with God is the fact that she’s gay. Even though people always say “God is love,” religion has taught her that God isn’t love — that you have to change, be “delivered,” or fix who you are just to be accepted by Him.

She opens up about how that belief has affected her relationship with God now, and how she’s been looking for a sign from God to show that He really does love her for who she is, that she doesn’t have to change and she’s not going to hell for who she loves.

Caitlin reads scripture about how God is love and reminds everyone that to be a Christian means to be like God. Anybody who judges gays to the point where they feel like the church isn’t where they belong, or that they’re going to hell for liking the same sex, is not doing their part as a Christian. Because as believers, you’re supposed to love and welcome, not condemn.
