There's a famous saying that's been rolling around quite a bit in the United States. It's “God loves you just as you are,” and it's really true. John 3:16 says it all: “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” That's what Jesus said. But somebody else added something else too. “God loves you just as you are, but He loves you too much to leave you just as you are.”

God doesn't want you stuck in sin, God doesn't want you stuck with fear, and pain, and anger, and all sorts of negative things. He wants you out of it. In Romans chapter 8 the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul clearly says He wants to transform us into the image of His Son. Did you hear that? God wants to transform you, and He wants to transform me into the image of His Son. So yes, He loves us just as we are. And if we repent He will forgive us and give us eternal life and make us His children. And His goal from then on is to transform you and me into the character and the image of Jesus Christ. Shall we let Him do it to us today, and this week, and this month? Of course! We want to be like Jesus.
