God Meant It For Good - August 31, 2025

Listen Later

What if the hardest miles of your journey were part of a higher trail you can only see from the summit? Joseph’s story—betrayal, slavery, prison, then reconciliation and honor—shows a God who weaves every twist into redemptive purpose. Today we close our Joseph series with the mountaintop view: “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.” (Gen. 50:20)

In this message:

  • Lessons: Forgiveness that releases the debt, faithfulness in the valley, and fulfillment of God’s promises (Rom. 8:28).
  • Length: Joseph’s 110 years—long life measured not just in time, but in trust (Ps. 90:12).
  • Legacy: A God-centered life that points beyond Joseph to Jesus—the greater Savior who turns the worst Friday into Resurrection Sunday.

Key takeaways

  • Forgiven people forgive people (Eph. 4:32; Matt. 18:21–35).
  • Mature faith learns to see providence in retrospect and trust in advance (2 Cor. 4:16–18; Isa. 55:8–9).
  • Whatever was intended for harm, God can repurpose for good—for His glory and others’ good.

Reflection questions

  1. What hurt do I need to release so God can repurpose it?
  2. Where do I need to trust God’s timing when I can’t see the trail?
  3. Does my life point to Only Jesus?
